Batty for Bats!

It is hard to believe that our unit about bats is coming to a close, but I must say, I do believe our schema has truly grown!!!  We have learned so much about these flying mammals and I am so excited to hear all of the bat presentations this week!

One of my favorite parts of the unit is when we bring in Ben Hale, a bat biologist from Indiana to speak.  He brings in his mist net that he uses in the field, bat sensors and other visual aids to use during his presentation.

Here are some pictures and video clips from today!

We had an amazing visit and as you can see in the background, we have many cool projects to share this week!

We have been exploring the best places to read!

Reading with a buddy is always nice!

Apples, apples, apples!!!  We are enjoying this part of  a living and nonliving unit in Science!!!

Ms. Pocic's 4th graders are our buddies.  They came and helped us stuff and lace the painted apple halves together, so they could hang from our ceiling!

Math is not always done at our seats!!!

We so enjoyed having our Moms join us this morning for "Muffins With Mom"!  We have been working so hard this year and were anxious to celebrate our accomplishments and the wonderful women in our lives that love us!

I very much appreciate the fact that you took off from work or your very full schedules to make time for us today!  You are all loved!!!
