See the USA!!!

I am probably dating myself here, but if you remember, there used to be a commercial with the jingle, "See the USA in a Chevrolet..."; well, we don't have field trip monies to do that, so 1KC is doing the next best thing!! We are working on developing persuasive brochures that will attract visitors to some national landmarks!  During Writer's and Reader's Workshop we have read persuasive texts and examined travel brochures from all over to determine what components are in them.  In Social Studies, our "We Love Our Country" unit is the perfect fit as it discusses national symbols...I love when that happens!!!  Anyway, we are in the draft stage at the moment and it has been a productive week!  Here's a look at some work in progress...stay tuned!!  You may want to change your summer vacation plans!!!  :)

Happy "28th" to me!!!!

What a wonderful way to start my day today!!!  Flowers, balloons and gifts galore from the Gators that I adore!!!  Thank you all...

My favorite comment was, "I told my Mom you were 28, but she got the 50 balloon anyway!!!"  Guess Mom needs to learn to count the first grade way!!!  Ha!

Leapin' Leprechauns!!!!

Well, the traps failed to yield any little leprechauns we discovered this a.m.!! 
However, he or they, left behind many clues and shamrocks!!!  Imagination is a wonderful thing and makes my job amazing!!!

They have left their marks...dumbfounded disbelief!! Priceless!!

Leapin' Leprechaun Traps!!!

If the Leprechauns thought they could come to Grove School and not get caught...well, 1KC has a surprise 
for them!!!  Take a look at our awesome traps!!!  I told the class that any student that DOES catch a leprechaun may KEEP it!!!
