I am probably dating myself here, but if you remember, there used to be a commercial with the jingle, "See the USA in a Chevrolet..."; well, we don't have field trip monies to do that, so 1KC is doing the next best thing!! We are working on developing persuasive brochures that will attract visitors to some national landmarks! During Writer's and Reader's Workshop we have read persuasive texts and examined travel brochures
from
all over to determine what components are in them. In Social Studies, our "We Love Our Country" unit is the perfect fit as it discusses national symbols...I love when that happens!!! Anyway, we are in the draft stage at the moment and it has been a productive week! Here's a look at some work in progress...stay tuned!! You may want to change your summer vacation plans!!! :)
