Gator Holidays!!

Our Hallway Bulletin Board

1KC is dreaming of Christmas!

We are traveling around the world, exploring Holiday Traditions in December.

In the United States, children hang their stockings by the fireplace for Santa to fill with oranges and goodies!
We traced, punched and stitched our own paper versions for filling!!!
Germany was our next stop for St. Nick's Day.  We left our shoes on our desks for the Angel Kristkind to find.
We played  "Hide the Pickle", a Christmas game that originated in Germany.  The winner won a special present!!

Germans also decorate gingerbread houses and cookies during the Holiday Season...we read
Jan Brett's story, Gingerbread Baby.  Here is a recipe for gingerbread she shared for you
to try at home!!!!

Fire Safety and Pumpkins

October is Fire Safety Month and 1KC has been learning all kinds of tips
to keeping safe and protecting ourselves from fires.

We were visited by

Officer Sweeney where we practiced simulated 9-1-1 calls and learned the importance of smoke detectors.

Look at our pumpkin creations!!  This what we started with....

Then, it was all up to them to create a pumpkin!!

Some even went 3-D!!
